You can never have enough places to rest, and this small stool is inspirational as well as a place to set a while. It was that awful yellowed pine when we picked it up, and look at it now!
We cleaned it up, gave it a good sanding, then used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old Linen to give it a lovely neutral colour. Then we did a little distressing.
We decorated the stool using a bird on a twig image from Iron Orchid Designs to give it some dimension. And then, very carefully, we added the quote, 'From Birds, She Learned How to Sing' - Salman Rushdie
Then the whole thing was given 2 coats of Polycrylic to protect the paint, the quotation and the image.
It is a very sturdy little stool, and would suit as a small table to pop your drink on, as well as somewhere to rest your feet.
The lantern is 13" (33cm) tall, and 7.5" (18cm) wide.
