Trying Something New: Embroidered Daisies

Trying Something New: Embroidered Daisies

I love to go thrifting. You never know what amazing goodies are waiting to be discovered! I purchased some Levi's jeans in great condition for a steal. However, when I got home I realized they had loose stitching on the back pocket. I thought to myself: "no problem, this is definitely something I can fix!". I was originally planning on using matching thread and keeping the original design. Then I decided to get creative instead... Why not make this a fun project?

I've always thought embroidery was very pretty, but I never got around to trying it. I am not an expert sewer by any means. I can darn socks and reattach buttons, but that's about it. I saw many nice embroidery designs pop up on my Pinterest feed over the years, and I decided now was the time to finally try embroidery myself. I chose a daisy design to keep it simple for my first attempt. I used regular thread instead of embroidery floss. I had a lot of fun with this project and completed it slowly over several sessions while watching YouTube videos.
Overall, I am quite pleased with the finished product. Some of my daisies are not as pretty as the others, but in nature, daisies are all unique anyway! These jeans are now one of a kind. I think practice makes perfect, and I'd definitely try another embroidery project in the future. Maybe different kinds of flowers next time?
Have you tried embroidery? Thanks for stopping by the blog!
