How does Square Lemon operate?

We run as a not-for-profit organization, which gives us freedom to offer fun, community-based facilities without having to worry about the financial bottom line. However, volunteers are the lifeblood of any not-for-profit corporation. Square Lemon is run by volunteers, who are all crafters, artists, and makers. Without their dedication, time, passion, and expertise Square Lemon would not be able to achieve its objectives.

We welcome anyone who is keen to volunteer and will provide the necessary training and support to make everyone comfortable with their tasks and responsibilities. 

We are constantly looking for volunteers, Youth or Adult.

Market Volunteers

Perhaps the most pressing and diverse current activity is our monthly Craft Markets at The Glebe Community Centre. Possible roles include, but are not limited to, assistance with set up and take down process, ushering the public, providing relief for other volunteers, monitoring the customers’ flow and of course acting as a general helper during the day.

Youth Volunteers

We offer volunteer hours within Ontario’s Community Involvement Program for High School Students. As our activities are supported under the program’s guideline, you can fulfill your education requirement at our organisation throughout the year.

Adult Volunteers

We love the adults too! Got some spare time? Want to be creative in your day? Just looking to socialise? Reach out to us! We offer the same fun activities at our markets to young and old(er) alike!

The mutual benefit of volunteering is unquestionable. Whether the aim is CV building and personal development, learning a new skill or even fostering an existing hobby, we at Square Lemon are eager to provide a safe, friendly, professional, and fun environment for all our volunteers.
